Transponder Key Programming
For the unfamiliar, almost every car key today is a transponder key. These keys feature special transponder chips located inside of them, providing an additional layer of security and verification each time you start your car. Suffice to say if there is no corresponding signal coming from the key to match the one stored in your car’s transceiver, then the car won’t start.

Car Key Extraction
It is entirely possible that your key could snap while in the ignition of your car. While you may think this is the end of the world, have no fear! This is a more common occurrence than you probably think, and we can be over on the double to help get you moving again.
There are a few factors that need to be taken into consideration when it comes to car key extraction. Firstly, how far within the lock cylinder are the broken pieces? With any luck, the remains of the key will be easy enough for our auto locksmith to get to without having to cause any need to replace the ignition. In many scenarios, though, this unfortunately won’t be the case. If a lot of force was being applied to the key when it broke off inside the ignition, then the ignition may have become damaged. This requires that it be replaced. When our locksmith arrives, he or she will be able to effectively assess the situation and let you know exactly what’s what.
Ignition Cylinder Replacement and Repair
Over time, parts of your car will start to wear out, and this includes your car’s ignition cylinder and the wafers inside of it. When this happens, the wafers inside the ignition cylinder will no longer be able to be moved by the key, and your car will think you’re not inserting the correct one. This is when you’ll need an ignition cylinder replacement.
At the end of the day, your car’s ignition cylinder is no different really than any other lock, and whether it’s a replacement or a repair that you need it’s a procedure our locksmiths are well experienced in. Ignition Switch Replacement and Repair
Often when a car won’t start, many will go straight for the battery, but sometimes this can be down to a faulty ignition switch instead. It may sometimes be possible to repair a faulty ignition switch rather than to replace it, although it’s not always as simple as that. Often an issue with the ignition switch can point to other problems elsewhere, and depending on the cost and availability of certain parts, it may be more affordable to simply replace the ignition switch rather than repair it.

Rekey Ignition
