A Lakewood commercial retail storefront had an entrance-door lock that was jammed and very difficult to open. The work order specifically noted that the front door lock would not accept the key, creating an immediate access problem at a customer-facing entry.

The photographed entrance is a glass commercial door with large vertical pull handles, a keyed cylinder mounted below the handle, and a lower brush-style sweep. The black door stile and surrounding hardware show scuffs, chipped paint, and general wear. The service notes identify the lock as a Schlage mortise lock.

The documented locksmith approach was to replace the lock cylinder and rekey the lock. This addressed both parts of the request: replacing the component associated with the jammed keyway and configuring the lock for rekeyed operation. The work order included entrance-door lock repair, labor and installation, and a new Schlage lock component with rekeying.

For a busy storefront, a key that will not enter the lock can disrupt opening, closing, and routine staff access. A focused cylinder replacement and rekey service is relevant when the existing entrance hardware is visibly worn and the immediate issue is concentrated at the keyed lock.
